Do I have to live in a specific state to be a patient?
Do I have to live in a specific state to be a patient?
Your permanent home address matters less than where you are physically sitting when we log on for your session. Telehealth regulations require medical providers to be licensed in the state where the patient is physically located at the exact time of the appointment. We are currently licensed to treat patients who are physically located in Kansas, Missouri, and Colorado. As long as you are within the borders of one of these three states during our telehealth session, we can provide your care. Please note that not all providers are licensed to practice in all states. You are required to be physically located in a state that your provider is licensed to practice in.
What if I am traveling and am outside my home state?
What if I am traveling and am outside my home state?
Because medical and psychiatric licensing is strictly regulated on a state-by-state basis, we can only conduct appointments and prescribe medications when you are physically located in a state where we hold an active license (KS, MO, or CO).If you are traveling outside of these three states for work, college, or vacation, we legally cannot conduct a telehealth session with you — even if you are an established patient. If you have an upcoming trip, please let us know in advance. Please note that not all providers are licensed to practice in all states. You are required to be physically located in a state that your provider is licensed to practice in.
Note: If you experience a mental health emergency while traveling out-of-state, please seek immediate care at a local urgent care clinic or emergency department.
